National Council for Palliative Care
Supporting NCPC to set the standards for care within a bespoke designed and produced training pack.
The National Council for Palliative Care is the umbrella charity for all those involved in palliative, end-of-life, and hospice care across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Tasked with setting the standard for palliative care through a training pack for all those working with end-of-life patients, NCPC invited us to pitch for the project. Our distinctive illustration-led solution won the brief, and the resulting pack received immediate positive feedback from hospices across the network.
Training pack
We designed and produced the training pack as a contained folder with loop-bound booklets which could easily be removed for use when studying.
Careful management of the client’s budget allowed for production of high-quality hardback folders and full-colour printing throughout all three pack booklets, enhancing their value.
The structure of the content was considered so that useful items such as throw-out pages featuring a reference chart were in view whilst completing individual exercises.
Illustrations
Illustration was selected as the best approach to be able to visualise scenarios and a variety of people within the budget and not be limited to the availability of photography. We created over 40 illustrations throughout the 3 booklets and folder, even including portraits of the authors!
