About us

Fit Creative is an award-winning, London-based design agency founded in 2007.

From the start, we’ve helped a wide variety of organisations develop distinctive brands that achieve great impact – across their communications, online presence, moving image and physical environments. Today, we focus on building long-term partnerships within clients in Heritage, Culture, Health and Education.

Who we are

Fit Creative is led by Jonathan Cook and Kara Penn. Over 20 years of working together, their different experiences and viewpoints have created a dynamic partnership—one that both complements and challenges design thinking to deliver maximum impact for clients.

Jonathan Cook | Director

Jonathan cut his teeth working with FTSE100 companies, translating complex messages for public and peer-to-peer audiences. He brings deep experience across all areas of messaging and communication, with an eye for the details that transform good work into exceptional results.

Kara Penn | Director

Kara is a brand obsessive. She‘s committed to building strong brands that help clients grow their audiences—both in digital spaces and physical environments. Prior to founding Fit, Kara worked with major brands across the UK and Middle East.

Our partners

Our team extends far beyond the two of us. We work with a trusted network of long-term collaborators – world-leading designers, animators, copywriters, photographers, illustrators, digital engineers and more. This approach gives us access to exceptional talent you won't find in a typical design agency. For each project, we assemble exactly the right team to deliver work that works.

Multi-disciplinary design

Multidisciplinary design isn‘t just what we do – it‘s been our foundation from day one. Organisations exist in multi-sensory environments, which means brands need to live everywhere, seamlessly. We work across the full spectrum of brand presence: naming, brand creation and language development, digital and film, reporting, exhibition and signage. We know that projects rarely fit into neat boxes. That‘s why our team excels at bringing together knowledge, creativity and experience to deliver solutions that work across every touchpoint.

Our partnership ethos

Good design makes a real difference to engagement and impact. But we believe it‘s our relationships with clients that truly drive successful solutions. Many of our clients have worked with us for over a decade, and we value the trust that builds through long-term collaboration. These partnerships allow us to deliver increasingly effective work – because we understand their needs deeply and can evolve together as audiences change.

Our values

Inquisitive listeners

Every project starts with a conversation. We listen carefully, question assumptions, and understand limitations so the brief is shaped collaboratively. We work hard to set aside presumptions and truly understand what you need.

Flexible thinkers

Most briefs have more than one valid solution – choosing the right route is where our experience adds value. And when unexpected events shift direction mid-project, we adapt. We support our clients through change, adjusting the design to deliver impact within real-world constraints.

Budget clever

There‘s no such thing as an unlimited budget – or a bargain when it comes to effective brand work. We make every pound count, stretching resources to deliver beyond expectations.

Schedule aware

Timelines matter. We respect deadlines and work with you to meet them. But we‘ll also question a schedule if it's working against the project rather than for it. Adapting to your needs is central to strong partnership.

Clear communicators

We‘re transparent in how we work, honest in our opinions, and ambitious in our creativity. Being easy to discuss and debate with matters—it‘s what makes collaboration enjoyable and successful.

Trusted hands

We value the trust you place in us. Our job is to deliver successful projects, build strong brands, and support your ambitions. Without our clients, we‘re simply people with ideas. Together, we achieve real impact.

Bloody good design

We take pride in crafting excellent design solutions to real brand challenges.

Maritime Greenwich WHS

Working with Fit Creative has been a positive and rewarding experience. A sound understanding of what we wanted to achieve in developing a new Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site website coupled with imaginative and cutting edge design has resulted in a high quality, informative and user friendly product of which we are justly proud. The Goldsmiths’ Centre

Having worked with Fit Creative previously, it was an obvious choice to ask them to support us in developing the Goldsmiths’ Centre brand. Following a creative pitch, they have brought both clarity and creativity to our brand allowing us to achieve standout and brand stretch in a clever system. They have proved their namesake yet again with a solution fit for purpose.

Prostate Cancer Research

Fit Creative’s work on our rebrand was exemplary. They not only brought a good design brain, but also a wealth of experience of working with health organisations, understanding of patients, impact and of what is needed to get buy-in from all the stakeholders along the journey.

Our Ladye Star of the Sea Church

We needed a new church website and Fit Creative were highly recommended to us. They clearly understood what was needed and, with the advantage of their local knowledge and eyes for details, brought our attention to features of the church which had otherwise passed us by. This made for an enjoyable project all round. Engaging images draw visitors in to find information about what goes on at the church and its heritage in a user friendly way. The team helpfully guided us in face-to-face meetings and contact throughout the build so that we are able to maintain and update the website ourselves. We now have a website that we are very proud of and is worthy of our beautiful church.

Visit Greenwich

Working with Fit Creative to create a brand that would satisfy the many Greenwich partners was a real challenge, but one which they rose to and delivered with great success. The Visitor Guide perfectly captures our offer and does a comprehensive job in selling our attractions. Feedback via our Tourist information Centre has been very positive and sales have been very good. Over 10 years we have regularly commissioned Fit Creative to produce effective and creative marketing materials because they always deliver to a high standard.

UCLH Charity

Fit Creative work with enthusiasm and professionalism in everything they provide. It was clear that they took the time to thoroughly understand our charity and how it works and this is reflected in the website  – both in terms of functionality and design. Their work is always crisp and to a high standard as is shown in the recent annual report and impact statement and they continue to support us with our marketing materials.

Flower Skills

We knew we needed a website over which we had much greater control but which we could manage without in-house specialist web design knowledge. We selected Fit Creative after seeing examples of their work and, especially, speaking to other clients, all of whom recommended them without hesitation. The relationship with Fit is characterised by a personal, friendly and supportive approach. We agreed challenging but realistic deadlines – and met them together. We are delighted with the end result – a modern, engaging website with integrated social media links that we can maintain and update ourselves without specialist knowledge. I am delighted to say that we, too, would recommend Fit without hesitation to anyone looking for a website re-brand.

Greenwich Hospital

We have completed 3 years of working with Fit Creative and have been impressed by the team's responsiveness and willingness to flex and develop the design and content of our report, as our organisational needs and internal capacity have changed over time. They listen to our brief carefully, but also challenge us to think creatively. We’ve been delighted by the quality of the work produced and the feedback we have received from others about our Impact Report.

Stephens House & Gardens

Fit Creative helped steer Stephens House & Gardens through naming, branding and our key marketing tool – a new responsive website which looks great on all devices and really encapsulates what our offer is all about. What I really value apart from their creativity is a proactive approach to new initiatives, along with sound pragmatic thinking which often turns a rough idea into something well rounded and finally into a tangible reality.

Autistica

The team at Fit Creative have worked with Autistica for a number of years on a variety of design projects. They have created some very research-heavy reports which could easily be quite dry, but Fit always manage to bring life to them. They have a great way of formatting information so that it is easy to digest and looks beautiful. Some agencies will just create what you ask of them but Fit always question our brief and suggest innovative solutions that we may not have considered. It's this creative and professional approach that makes us return to them time and time again.

Page & Bloom

Fit Creative worked with us right at the start of our journey, helping us develop a name, a brand identity and some beautiful publicity materials including pop out business cards and brochures. They went far over and above what we originally asked them to do and our brand is now much more professional and design focussed than it would have been without them.

Kara and Jonathan were fantastic to work with, really inventive and creative, coming up with some amazing ideas and executing them with a passionate degree of perfectionism! But they were also incredibly patient with us as a small new business, taking the time to understand our needs, helping us prioritise what we really needed, and working tirelessly to find innovative and practical solutions that would work within our budget.

Jewish Literary Foundation

Working with Fit Creative on the re-brand of our charity organisation with a strong & established heritage was a revelation. They led, facilitated and initiated the full review of the brand, and crafted a fantastic new brand architecture, positioning, and defined a new brand purpose, mission, and set of values to fulfill our aspirations. They then went on to develop and create an entirely new set of visual assets for the brand, from a new logo, to a new visual identity system, brand guidelines, and then bring those all to life in the form of a brilliant new website, festival brochure, and on the charity’s digital spaces. Throughout the project, their outstanding and experienced team were positive, proactive, inventive and generous with their time, they brought stakeholders with them on the journey. Ultimately they helped to transform a heritage charity based around a single annual event into an organisation with a distinctive year-round mission complimented by a future-ready new visual identity, enabling us to move forward and reach out to new audiences.

Greenwich Market

Following a rebranding process for Greenwich Market which highlighted it’s heritage, Fit Creative then worked with us to improve and develop our online presence. Our new responsive site, the first for a market in London, celebrates the shopping experience we have to offer as well as our long and rich history. The navigation makes moving around the site very easy and has been very well received by visitors and tenants alike. Many of our visitors are foreign so navigation is very important. The site has a contemporary feel so important in the retail sector, whilst retaining a personality fitting to our much cherished market. The process was well managed and the end product is a great success. The team at Fit are always on hand to help with our marketing needs.

South East Enterprise

It’s always a pleasure working with the team at Fit and developing a new range of marketing materials for our new company services and courses has been no exception; building seamlessly on the brand image they created for us. The icing on the cake has to be the redesign of our web site which is now fully content managed, an absolute boon for a company such as ours. The development process was made easy by Fit and the finished product is proof that they interpreted our requirements exactly. An online booking facility as well as full integration with all of the popular social media platforms has helped prepare us to move SEE to the next phase of development.

National Council for Palliative Care

The National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) hired Fit Creative to design our training materials. As a new venture for NCPC it was important for the materials to have their own bold identity. Fit Creative’s innovative approach delivered a fresh and exciting design which has already proved popular with a wide range of customers. Having supplied the information, NCPC was guided through the whole project by their professional and helpful team, making the process as straight forward and enjoyable as possible. We hope to work with them again soon.
